Frequently Asked Questions

How much do new gutters cost in Texas?

It depends on the size of your home, the material you choose, and how much downspout the roof needs. Seamless aluminum is the most common and cost-effective choice; steel and copper cost more. We give every homeowner a clear written estimate before any work begins, with no hidden fees.

What size gutters do I need?

Many Texas homes are better served by 6-inch gutters with 3x4 downspouts rather than the standard builder-grade 5-inch size, simply because it rains so hard here. The right size depends on your roof area, pitch, and local rainfall, which we assess during a free on-site estimate.

Are seamless gutters better than sectional?

Yes, for most homes. Seamless gutters are fabricated in one continuous length for each roof edge, so the only joints are at corners and downspouts. Fewer joints means fewer leaks, a cleaner look, and a longer lifespan than sectional gutters snapped together from store-bought pieces.

How often should I clean my gutters?

At least twice a year for most Texas homes — typically late fall and mid-spring. Homes under heavy tree cover, especially live oaks and pines, often need cleaning three or four times a year to stay ahead of debris and shingle grit.

Do gutter guards really work?

Quality guards, correctly installed and matched to your debris and rainfall, work very well and drastically reduce cleaning. No guard is completely maintenance-free, but a good system turns frequent cleanings into an occasional light rinse. Cheap store-bought screens often disappoint.

Should I repair or replace my gutters?

If the gutters are structurally sound and the failures are localized — a few leaks, some loose hangers — repair is the smart, economical choice. If the system is undersized, widely corroded, or failing in multiple places, replacement costs less over time than chasing endless repairs. We give an honest recommendation, not a sales pitch.

Why do my gutters overflow even when they are clean?

Usually because they are undersized for your roof, pitched incorrectly, or do not have enough downspouts. In high-rain Texas, a 5-inch gutter with one or two small downspouts often cannot keep up. Upsizing the gutter or adding downspouts typically solves it.

How far should downspouts drain from the house?

At least 4 to 6 feet from the foundation, discharging onto ground that slopes away. This matters a lot in Texas because concentrated runoff near the slab drives the expansive-clay movement that damages foundations. We add extensions or splash solutions to carry water safely away.

Can bad gutters really damage my foundation?

Yes. When gutters overflow or downspouts dump water at the slab, that water saturates the expansive clay soil under many Texas homes. The soil swells and shrinks, and that movement is a leading cause of foundation cracks and settling. Good gutters and drainage are genuine foundation protection.

What gutter materials do you install?

Aluminum (the most popular for its balance of cost and durability), galvanized and galvalume steel for extra strength, and copper for a premium, long-life look. We will walk you through the trade-offs for your budget, home, and region.

How long does gutter installation take?

Most single-family homes are completed in one day. Larger homes, multi-story rooflines, or copper systems may take two. Because we fabricate seamless gutters on-site, there is no waiting on off-site manufacturing.

Do you remove and haul away my old gutters?

Yes. Tear-off, disposal, and haul-off of the old system are included in a replacement. We leave you with a clean site and a new, correctly draining gutter system.

How long do gutters last?

With proper installation and basic maintenance, seamless aluminum systems commonly last 20 years or more, and steel or copper can last considerably longer. Keeping them clean and flowing is the single biggest factor in their lifespan.

Do you offer commercial gutter services?

Yes. We work with business owners, property managers, and facilities teams on installation, repair, cleaning, and maintenance for commercial gutter and drainage systems, including box gutters and larger commercial profiles.
